Our Story:
Corniche Carpet Mills, Inc. was founded in 1982. The company started by having commercial grade synthetic carpet made for department store clients such as Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Nordstrom’s et al. About the same time we began importing some extraordinary shaggy wool rugs from Portugal and selling them to upscale retail stores and showrooms servicing the interior design community around the country.
In 1989 the purchase of Sahara Carpet Mills was made and we were now producing our own brand of custom wool carpeting, each made to a custom specification and color.
In ensuing years we added Tibetan and Moroccan rugs to our import repertoire.
Today we still have the pleasure of bringing rugs from our friends Fernanda, Mahesh , and Abdelilah, rugs of extraordinary texture, unique blends of yarns and uniquely hewn by each of these distinctive cultures and people.
